About Us
BBYAN – Your Home Elsewhere
At BBYAN, the most valuable leadership principles I carried from my experience as a User Experience Designer at Amazon are Customer Obsession and Insist on the Highest Standards. These values are now at the heart of BBYAN: we listen to our customers, we act with integrity, we uphold uncompromising quality, and if there is ever any disappointment, we promise to make it right.
BBYAN is inspired by the timeless beauty of the Mediterranean and the philosophy of slow living—where every detail matters and every piece tells a story. Many of our textiles are crafted from pure European linen in small ateliers, where traditional know-how meets modern precision. Light, soft, and enduring, they bring the breezy comfort of seaside living into your home.
Our art candles are not only hand-poured but also carefully sculpted over hours, sometimes days. Like stones shaped by the sea, each curve and texture reflects patience, care, and intention—transforming wax and flame into quiet works of art.
We design with purpose, not haste. From the softness of linen to the glow of a candle, our collections invite you to pause, breathe, and rediscover beauty in the everyday.
Every decision we make—every fabric, every form, every detail—is guided by our promise to customers: trust, comfort, and belonging. BBYAN is more than home décor. It is your sanctuary of quiet luxury, Mediterranean warmth, and the feeling of your home elsewhere.
A Journey of Becoming
I began my career as a UX and visual designer in the fast-paced world of technology. Those years gave me more than technical craft—they taught me customer obsession, empathy, ownership, integrity, and the discipline to insist on the highest standards. I valued that time deeply. Yet even then, I knew I did not want to remain on a corporate track until retirement. I longed to create something of my own, to work with freedom, and to add new chapters to my life’s story.
When I finally stepped away, I imagined the road ahead would be bold and fulfilling. Instead, it became filled with obstacles I never expected. The pandemic delayed my plans; motherhood reshaped my priorities. And throughout it all, I encountered doubt—not only from circumstance, but from people around me. In those moments, feminism became real for me not as a label, but as a quiet response to doubt and resistance. Each obstacle, each dismissive remark, only deepened my conviction that women’s voices, work, and dreams matter.
Among all these struggles, life brought its heaviest test: cancer. Two early-stage cancer diagnoses, two surgeries within two months—suddenly my world narrowed to hospital corridors and recovery rooms. Those days drained my strength and left me questioning my body, my identity, even my purpose. For a time, I felt as though life itself had come undone.
To find myself again, I traveled to Yunnan and the edges of Tibet. There, at the foot of the snow mountains, I saw herds of sheep grazing and running freely across the fields. In their quiet rhythm with the land, I was reminded that humans, too, are part of nature—meant to live in simplicity, balance, and authenticity. That journey became my rebirth.
When I returned home, I began to build again—with clarity and conviction. My work and my products must carry the values I hold closest: honesty, resilience, and empowerment. What I wish to pass on through my journey is more than the comfort of belonging—strength, resilience, and the belief that women long to live with freedom and authenticity.
